
El primer Project-A-Thon Internacional, presentado por NALIP-DR & Florida Media Market (FMM), se celebrará en Santo Domingo desde este jueves 23 de Agosto al 25, en las instalaciones de la Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), institución que apoya al capítulo Dominicano de NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers) y auspicia la actividad. Este mega-evento contará con la asistencia de la estelar actriz venezolana María Conchita Alonso, quien estará dando su apoyo a los representantes del Project-A-Thon mediante charlas y entrevistas, así como a través de un interesante ACTOR’S STUDIO, para todos los DR Nalipsters y el público en general.
Este Maratón de proyectos o Project-A-Thon, conformado por directores, productores y escritores, contribuirá al desarrollo de las carreras de cine y televisión de los cineastas dominicanos, llevando los proyectos participantes desde una idea hasta la realidad, con la ayuda de profesionales establecidos en el campo de Cine, Televisión y Documental. Los participantes recibirán ayuda en sus presentaciones y proyectos de Maritza Guimet, productora y fundadora del FMM; Adriana Bosch, Presidenta del FMM y documentalista reconocida internacionalmente por sus documentales para American Experience; y Frances Lausell productora de cine y televisión y presidente del capitulo de Puerto Rico de NALIP. “Del ámbito local, nos acompañarán instructores de guión, productores independientes, escritores y representantes de agencias de talento, entre otros”, comentó en Santo Domingo, Carmen María Grullón, Presidenta del capítulo NALIP-DR.
Los participantes aprenderán a “acelerar” los proyectos tomando un punto de vista orientado hacia los negocios, pero al mismo tiempo creativo, para las finazas, producción, mercadeo y distribución de sus películas. Los temas incluirán: presupuestos, técnicas de negociación, cómo prepararse para una sesión de pitching (presentación), cómo estructurar un acuerdo, problemas corporativos que los cineastas deberían evitar y otros interesantes tópicos relacionados con la industria.
Los participantes del Taller de Desarrollo de Proyectos, Project-A-Thon, podrán poner a prueba sus conocimientos en la conferencia del Florida Media Market este Octubre próximo, en Miami. Por primera vez en la historia de la Florida, este evento dará la oportunidad a directores, escritores y productores locales e internacionales a presentar, discutir y enseñar sus proyectos a ejecutivos de alto nivel de reconocidos estudios de cine, compañías de producción y estaciones de televisión.

The San Antonio 48-Hour Film Project presents an evening of the Best Films submitted for this, our first year. Following the screenings, we will have an awards ceremony honoring winners in several categories as decided by our panel of judges -- also, the Audience Awards will be announced.
Filmmaking teams from throughout the San Antonio area successfully completed a weekend of filmmaking. Films were due on Sunday, August 12, and the last few minutes before the deadline saw filmmakers, operating on little sleep and lots of adrenaline, rushing to get their films in on time.
Tickets may sell out, so be sure to get yours early!

Comedy short "Head, Heart & Balls," produced by NALIP webmaster Zach Evans, has been accepted into the Raindance Film Festival. The festival takes place in London, England from Sept. 25 through Oct. 7.
In "Head, Heart, & Balls," it's the summer of 1969 and a young musician named Pete must overcome his insecurities, his overbearing parents, and a pot-induced anxiety attack in order to get to Woodstock and confess his love to the girl of his dreams.
The film stars Houston Graham, Angelica Magana, and Adam Carolla as "Anxiety."
