22ND ANNUAL IMAGEN AWARDS

NOMINEES ANNOUNCED

At the 22nd Annual Imagen Awards on Saturday, July 28 at 7 PM, The Imagen Foundation will bestow the President's Award to Disney-ABC Television Group with an acceptance by Anne Sweeney, Co-chairman, Disney Media Networks, President, Disney-ABC Television Group; the Lifetime Achievement Award to Walter Ulloa, Chairman & CEO, Entravision; the Creative Achievement Award to America Ferrara, star of ABC's Ugly Betty; and the Norman Lear Writer's Award to Cynthia Cidre, writer of Cane, an upcoming CBS Latino-cast series, it was announced this morning along with the 2007 nominees at The Television Academy ceremony, hosted by actors Constance Marie and Eddie Matos.

The Imagen Awards were established in 1985 to encourage and recognize the positive portrayal of Latinos in all media and to increase Latino representation at all levels of the entertainment industry.

"Our move to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in collaboration with The Music Center is a very ambitious one. It more than doubles the size of last year's gala and reinforces the bridge between the Latino and entertainment communities," stated Helen Hernandez, Founder of The Imagen Foundation and creator of the pioneering Imagen Awards, which annually draws A-list stars and luminaries from the world of Latino entertainment.

The move became a necessity to accommodate this year's explosion of interest in every area from award submissions and talent involvement to attendance and sponsorship.

Hernandez stated, "The quality and level of our entries reflect the growing creativity and talent that the Latino community brings to the world of entertainment."

NHMC FALL 2007 TELEVISION WRITERS PROGRAM, DEADLINE AUGUST 17

National Latino Media Council Fall 2007 Television Writers Program

This program is not for beginners. It is for those writers who can write at least one half-hour comedy or one-hour dramatic television script in English within a five-week period of time.

The program will take place in Los Angeles, CA from October 13 to November 17th, 2007. Each participant is expected to complete at least one script by the end of the five-week session, which will then be read by network executives. Those writers whose scripts show promise will be interviewed and mentored by the network executives with the idea of placing them on a show. Five of our writers from previous sessions have already been placed.

A stipend of $250 per week will be given to each participant. Flight, housing, and meals will be provided.

The program will commence on October 13th. If selected, you must be available to fly and stay in Los Angeles, CA from October 13 - November 17, 2007

Writing samples must be in English and Television scripts are preferred. Please note that writing teams are ineligible. The deadline for submissions is August 17th. Scripts will be evaluated and program participants announced on September 24th.

SPANISH SPEAKERS FOR ADR ON THESIS FILM

CREW FOR HD SHORT

RAW, a new short by Roberto Lopez is currently seeking a gaffer, dp, steadicam, jib op, and prop master for an explosive story of a young black man who seeks revenge on the one who's responsible for his brother's death while serving his country in Iraq.

The shoot will take place in August and will be submitted to Sundance and Slamdance. Pay is involved. Roberto's last short, Crazyheads was accepted over ten film festivals.
