The program, developed to broaden Nickelodeon’s outreach efforts, provides a salaried position for up to one year. The ’07 – ’08 cycle is tentatively scheduled to begin in October 2007.
The next submission period runs from January 2 – February 28, 2007. Applications and submission guidelines are available at www.nickwriting.com
Are you concerned about the current state of Latinos working in the film and television industries? Are you a Latina/o artist, actor, or cineaste looking to give back to your artistic and cultural community? Or are you a film student looking for credit and experience working in an entertainment and/or non-profit environment? If so, here is your chance to contribute to the success of the nation's premier Latino media arts organization.
The National Association of Latino Independent Producers, an organization committed to the advancement, development and funding of Latino Media Artists in all genres, seeks reliable and enthusiastic office and membership interns for the winter/spring of 2007. Intern candidates should have excellent office skills, administrative experience as well as a strong interest in film/television and the Latino community. Typical intern duties will include, but not be limited to: phone, database entry and administrative jobs; assisting the Membership Coordinator with new and renewal membership applications; general office tasks and community outreach. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful, but not required.
We are interested in candidates who will be available at least one or two full days a week, beginning in mid-January. The position will run through the spring or early summer. Our office is located in Santa Monica, a short walk from the coast and Third Street Promenade. This is an unpaid position. We offer course credit and a complimentary one year membership to NALIP. Due to proximity, students at UCLA, SMCC and Loyola Marymount are especially encouraged to apply.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work with a talented team, to familiarize yourself with the entertainment industry and gain valuable experience working with executives.
To apply, please e-mail your resume to Daniel Eduvijes Carrera at membership@nalip.org as an attachment in either Word or PDF format, and please provide a brief cover e-mail explaining your interest in working with us. Also, please visit us at www.nalip.org to learn more about our exciting signature programs, our Latino Media Resource Guide and the up-coming Conference in Newport Beach, CA!
