Network Alliance Offers Select Actors a Chance to Meet Hollywood Bigwigs

A new organization, URNetwork Alliance, is offering a small group of select actors the chance to meet with successful Hollywood professionals. Under the guidance of founder Michelle Martin, URNetwork Alliance has already met with producers, showrunners, agents, and casting directors. Special Discout to NALIP Members.

Studies show that fewer than 2% of actors able to make a living from acting. Therefore, actors need to connections with industry professionals who can help them. The Network Alliance does just that. In their weekly Los Angeles area meetings, the select group limited to 15 actors have already met with Dennis Leoni, Billy Demota, and many more working professionals. Future guests include Paul Bennett, Jody Hart, Nelson Parks and Joey Medina.

Despite just starting, URNetwork Alliance formula is already working. One of the members, Michael Gavino, found a big time agent, Jackie Stander of Scott Stander and Associates, through an alliance meeting.

Latino Boxing Film "Broken" Selected To Screen At The 10th Annual International Latino Film Festival - San Francisco Bay Area

The Latino boxing film BROKEN (www.brokenthefilm.com), starring Jose Yenque (BETWEEN, PUNOS ROSAS, THE LAST ADAM, I BELIEVE IN AMERICA, TRAFFIC) has been selected to screen at the 10 Annual International Latino Film Festival - San Francisco Bay Area, November 3 - 19.

BROKEN, produced, written and directed by NALIP member David Wendelman, tells the story of a small-time Latino boxer Luis Morales, who having survived the volatile ghettos of Los Angeles and empowered himself through the sport of boxing, is now pressured to leave the ring and face his own mortality---the one opponent he cannot beat.

Congratulations to NALIP Member Ernie Bustamante, Who Has Been Selected as an '06 - '07 Nickelodeon Writing Fellow


The Nickelodeon Writing Fellowship Program is designed to broaden the channel’s outreach efforts dedicated to attracting, developing and staffing new, experienced and diverse writing talent on Nickelodeon Network productions.

Ernie will be provided with a salaried position for up to one year and have hands-on experience in writing spec scripts, pitching story ideas, storyboard pitches and table reads, in both live action and animation television.  He is located at the Nick Animation Studio in Burbank, California.

Ernie submitted an OFFICE spec to the program and was chosen from thousands of entries.  He is a graduate of Stanford University and has an incredible passion for writing that just oozes from his pores.  Ernie has great energy and is a strong comedic writer.

SiTV Hiring a Manager of Program Development

Manager of Program Development will contribute to the development and programming direction of the channel.  SiTV will expand into digital media, so we are searching for candidates with both television experience and digital media knowledge.  Will understand and contribute multi-platform considerations where appropriate to support expanding television and digital media partnerships.  Will be the liaison between SiTV, producers and talent in terms of managing new series pitches, pilot productions and scouting talent and projects.  This position will oversee and maintain all records relating to each search & any show from inception through the entire process, from pitch meetings with producers to pilot production.  Will also oversee the transition from pilot phase to first days of production for all greenlit shows, will act as a liaison between production and business affairs to make sure required deals are finalized and will maintain strong relationships with agents, managers, writers, producers and talent.

This position requires experience in both television and digital media.
