Betty La Flaca to Premiere on HBO

Synopsis: Skinny Betty may as well not exist given the amount of attention she receives from the men in her neighborhood.  When Betty decides to have a butt enlargement done at Maria Dolores’ clandestine clinica in the Bronx, she has no idea how much impact a little work will have on her life.

NALIP Supporter and 2004 Writers Lab Participant is Accepted to Film Independent's Project: Involve

In the spring of 2004, while working as bookseller at Barnes & Noble in El Paso, TX, Martín was admitted to the 2004 NALIP Writers Lab in New York for a screenplay he wrote called The Image Consultant.

"It was a chance of a lifetime. Being at the NALIP Lab in 2004 gave me the strength and courage and validation to keep on writing," Martín writes. This year he will participate in Film Independent's Project:Involve, a program whose mission is to increase cultural diversity in the film industry. Martín explains, "The road will be long, winding, and challenging, but I look forward to it."

MARCOS: 26-30 years old Mexican, 5’-7” to 5’9” average built.  Marcos is a
hardworking guy, who takes life seriously.  Never misses a day of work.  He
is the balance in the group of friends. He is the one with more maturity among all. He has a good sense of humor and is kind to others.

TAVO:  18-23 years old, 5’5”-5’-7”, he is not very smart, he is very innocent and naïve, insecure, he is the young guy in the groupand is a follower.  He is not a risk taker, he works as a packer in a warehouse. He is content with very little. He is a happy camper.  He is “Defensa” in the Soccer Team.

ROJO: 23-27, 150-160 lbs, 5’6” years old Mexican he is the “tranza” in the group he is always dealing with something.  He is the sales agent in the black market.  He has a “contact” for everything you ask him about (from pot to washers and dryers, to airplane tickets, Ipods, plasma TVs., BackStage passes to concerts, etc) He is the street smart type of guy.  He is an alcoholic and is into amphetamines.  He is pretty sharp and smart. He is a party animal.  He also exercises and is “medio volante” in the Soccer Team.

PERRA MARILU: 15-17, 110-120 lbs.,  5'5”-5’-6'',  (Can be played by a male
actor) Cholo type with a beautiful face or nice features.  She is a tomboy.

The nickname of “Perra” is because she is rough and gets into fights all the
time and fights like a boxer or a dog trained for fighting.  She loves marihuana and stays in highschool because she is in love with PATTY (but that is for another episode).  Perra Marilu is best buddies with Rojo.  Rojo has a lot of respect for Perra Marilu and treats her just like any other of his “compas”.  Rojo has never tried to take advantage of the fact that she is a woman, on the contrary they treat each other like two “vatos” hitting each other and horsing around.  Rojo provides the “mota” to Perra Marilu and is her “tirador” in High School.

ZURDO: 5’6”-5’7”, 140-160 lbs.  23-29, Vato Chingón, very good looking the
“papazote” kind, he really doesn’t care about anything and fits in any circle. He smiles and is the “suave” type “conquistador”.  He is very smart and nothing bothers him. He doesn’t “have” anything, but he “owns” everything. The “lacra” kind of guy but everybody loves him.

if2 is presently accepting headshots and resumes for an upcoming independent film project to be shot in Arizona. The project, which is presently in the pre-production stage, is a tragic drama with mysterious elements. The film deals with the plight of two young friends who attempt to cross the Sonoran desert into the United States and the hardships they face on their journey.

Right up front, if2 would like to make it known that this is a labor of love and a privately financed project and as such it is a non-paid project. The intention is to create a symbiotic relationship resulting in a mutual benefit for all parties involved.
