ARIN CRUMLEY, 24, and his girlfriend, Susan Buice, 27, sat in their cramped apartment in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn , in front of the computers on which they edited their independent film. Post-Its on a nearby wall read, "Eat Less," "No More Banana Chips" and "Work Succeed." An oversized skateboard leaned precariously against a makeshift desk. Several women's wigs were scattered on the floor.
Mr. Crumley and Ms. Buice spoke about their 14-month ordeal making "Four Eyed Monsters," which dramatizes how they met online, and in which they co-star. The movie was well received at its Slamdance Film Festival premiere in January and screened at 16 other festivals. But like so many independent labors of love, it has yet to attract a theatrical distributor.

ABC has been quietly casting Hispanic actors in virtually all its primetime programs, the New York Post observed today (Monday). The newspaper quoted ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson as saying: "I look at it as a business decision. ... There's a gigantic Hispanic audience out there. If you're in the broadcasting business and you're not looking to reach the broadest audience, I think you're making a mistake." McPherson added that the network was taking a tack different form "the forced 'do good' way" of the past. "When it feels organic and truthful, people will respond. If it's being forced or 'managed, ' they really won't," he said.
The Sci Fi Channel has ordered a third season of "Battlestar Galactica," the remake of the 1970s hit of the same name. The show, which averages 3 million viewers a week, returns to production in February. Mediaweek

NBC UNIVERSAL ENTERTAINMENT ASSOCIATE PROGRAM BEGINS RECRUITING NEW CLASS OF FUTURE CREATIVE PROGRAMMING EXECUTIVES
BURBANK - November 9th, 2005 - The NBC Universal Entertainment Associate Program is now accepting new candidates for the 2006 class that offers career development opportunities for external and internal applicants interested in creative entertainment programming. The announcement was made today by Jeff Zucker, President NBC Universal Television Group.
"We are extremely proud of the Entertainment Associate Program and the top creative executives it has produced throughout the years and we look forward to recruiting talented future programmers for our 2006 class of Entertainment Associates."
The salaried creative executive-training program, which formally began in 2000, has seen many promotions among its graduates who have assumed increasing responsibilities within NBC Universal.
The Entertainment Associates who are accepted will be assigned to any of NBC Universal's Entertainment Television Program divisions, including NBC Network, NBC Universal Television Studio, and the cable networks of USA , SCI FI and Bravo. All of the Associates will be based at either the Burbank or Universal City ( California ) facilities.
Associates can expect to receive enhanced professional development that will give them dedicated time to further understand the entertainment business while they make key industry contacts. In addition, their experience will include mentoring programs, the "buddy" program, formal and informal seminars, and skills training.
The result is that the Associates gain valuable hands-on experience in the development and management of entertainment programs. They will analyze and develop scripts and story concepts, provide creative input to writers and producers upon review of scripts, and learn about casting and scheduling of programs. The process includes attending series "table reads," rehearsals, actual filming, rough-cut screenings as well as notes and pitch meetings.
Candidates are required to have a bachelor's or an advanced college degree in an applicable field. Likewise, at least 1 year of entertainment industry experience is considered desirable. In addition, they must have demonstrated proven leadership abilities and skills -- and have a passion for television that will allow them to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and high-pressure
environment.
The online application period extends exclusively from November 7 until December 5 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time). Prospective candidates must submit a resume and supply the answer to the essay question: "Why are you interested in television and why do you feel you are qualified for the Entertainment Associate Program?"
External candidates can access the online application process at www.nbcjobs.com and click on "CLICK HERE" link below. No cover letters will be accepted.
Final selections will be announced in May 2006.

UNKNOWN THEATER is continuing its talent search for
Our Weekly Post show experience called….. "The Fifth Wall " and we are seeking performers and their talents!
What is The Fifth Wall?
The Main Show will go on at Unknown--- [usually 8p-10p (Thurs-Sat) and 7p-9p (Sun)]--- after the show ends the Audience is invited and encouraged to stay around for our new creation "The Fifth Wall". The doors will open FREE to more people who didn't yet see the show, to join us; to discuss the show, meet the company members, make connections with a community of theater
goers, have a drink at our Bar and enjoy various ACTS that continue the experience of Unknown Theater called The Fifth Wall!
Throughout the remainder of every show evening, at different times, various short (5-7 minute) acts and performances will take place along with full bands and musicians.
These ACTS will be associated to the themes and questions of our Main Show and have unlimited potential.
An act could be a Dance number, jugglers, poets, singers, improv acts, interpretive art pieces, spoken word, mime, gymnastics, games, interactive items, stand up comedians, visual impact work, creative re-interpretations, monologues, clowns.... and on and on and on (anything could happen during The Fifth Wall!)
Who and what are we seeking?
We are seeking everyone and anyone who has an Act, a performance piece, poem, monologue, stand up routine, song, group piece, artistic creation, skills, talents or even just great ideas they want to perform!!
Acts should be roughly between 3 and 10 minutes in length
ANYTHING GOES with The Fifth Wall, no act is too "creative", "risky", "inventive" or "expressive"!
What this Fifth Wall Casting Search is like?
This is a 'Casting' (yet more of a search) for ACTS to perform in our Fifth Wall nights, its not a high pressure competition (there is no pay at this time but may in the near future) These are nights of fun, showcasing your talent, a night of The Fifth Wall is a laid back gathering of creative
artists showing each other and the audience their creations and talents, meeting each other and creating. This is a celebration of our extended family of artists, it's all about a beer, a laugh, and a celebration of each other's imagination, a song, a dance, or a full on band.
(additionally all ACTS will be considered for the life of UNKNOWN THEATER and its "Fifth Walls")
To be considered to perform in Unknown Theater's ‘The Fifth Wall’:
Let us know what "Act" you'd like to share,
