The Moving Image Students Encounter, which is a paralel activity of the festival, has received in Portugal students from all over the world in its previous edition, and is set to guarantee a very good environment for the festival, as well as all the condition for all people interested in following the event.
The credibility of this event is closely associated to the high quality of the participations such as the efforts made by the organization members, creating an opportunity for new directors to show their works, we are happy to cooperate with film schools new directors and Production companies .

Telefilm, Which Stars Thomas Kretschmann (“The Pianist”) as the Pope, Bruno Ganz (“Wings of Desire”) and Joaquim de Almeida (“24”), Will Also Air in Spanish via SAP
The much-anticipated new telefilm, “Have No Fear: The Life of Pope John Paul II,” will air as an “ABC Premiere Event” with Spanish audio via SAP, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Thomas Kretschmann (“The Pianist,” “King Kong”) stars as Pope John Paul II, portraying this extraordinary man over the course of 60 years. Bruno Ganz (“Wings of Desire”) stars as Cardinal Wyszynski, the Primate of Poland, and Joaquim de Almeida (“24”) portrays Salvadoran Archbishop Oscar Romero, who was brutally murdered during the Pope’s reign. Lorenzo Minoli and Judd Parkin, Emmy-nominated executive producers of the acclaimed telefilms “Jesus” and “Nicholas’ Gift,” have teamed again to produce this original movie for television. The project was shot on location in Rome and Lithuania .
In this dramatization, viewers will see, for the first time, not only the spiritual leader’s remarkable public life on the world stage, but also the very intimate moments that epitomized his great humanity -- his passions, regrets, frustrations, triumphs and sorrows. Born in 1920 in Wadowice , Poland , Karol “Lolek” Wojtyla was a bright, deeply faithful youth who loved theatre and school, but suffered the loss of his parents and only sibling before he reached adulthood. During World War II, he saw the deportation of Jewish childhood friends, which had a lasting effect on him and shaped his views on Fascism and anti-Semitism. In defiance of the German occupation, he staged his own political plays while risking his life, secretly studying at seminary. He was ordained a priest in 1946, and his great intellect impressed his superiors; he was made a bishop in Poland at just 38 years old, the youngest bishop in the country. Cardinal Wyszynski (portrayed by Bruno Ganz), the head of the Polish Church, was initially skeptical of this young intellectual, but the man who would become Pope proved to be Poland’s strongest ally in the fight against Communism and helped give rise to the Solidarity movement. Wojtyla worked hand in hand with the beloved Cardinal throughout his life.
Wojtyla’s ascendancy through the Church hierarchy was rapid. He participated in Vatican II, rising to Archbishop, then Cardinal. After the death of Pope John Paul I, who was only leader for 33 days, he was elected to become Pope, the first ever from Poland and the youngest appointed in over 100 years. A man of great intellectual and physical vigor, he survived an assassination attempt and later met with his attacker in prison, pardoning the man. The Pope championed causes thought to be liberal and conservative -- asking forgiveness for the Church’s missteps through history, while upholding the Church’s traditional stances on the right to life, homosexuality and the ordination of women. He traveled the world more than any of his predecessors, preaching the faith and spreading a message of love to millions at a time. During his last decade, he battled numerous health issues and grappled with the sex scandals involving American priests, all while ushering the Church into the New Millennium.
Thomas Kretschmann and Bruno Ganz were most recently seen in the independent film “Downfall,” which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Film. In addition Kretchsmann has a major role in the upcoming feature film, “King Kong,” which reunites him with his co-star from “The Pianist,” Adrien Brody.
“Have No Fear: The Life of Pope John Paul II” was written by Michael Hirst (“ Elizabeth ”) and Judd Parkin. Jeff Bleckner (“The Beach Boys: An American Family,” “Serving in Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story”) directs. The production company is Five Mile River Films.
This film will air with Spanish audio via SAP. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to airdate.

Jingle is for use in the U.K. - no domestic airplay is expected. This is a commercial for a children’s toy.
The sound I am looking for is a bit of a character voice – not too much of the overly polished “jingle” sound. The character is a train conductor, in his 40s, if that is of any help to you. Think pleasant and friendly.
You will be singing two lines in a :30 spot, so you should be in and out of the session fairly quickly.
To be considered for this job, please email up to 3 short mp3s (no longer than :30 each, if possible and you can edit the files) to: jeffgmanagement@mindspring.com
You may also include a link to a website, but mp3s are preferred. You MUST include a contact phone number.
Looking forward to your submissions!
I am Diana Romero, a NALIP member and am currently at the American Film Institute Conservatory as a producing fellow. I will be shooting my second project on November 19-22 and am looking to fill some crew positions. We will be shooting entirely on a sound stage at AFI so we won't be dealing with company moves and everything else associated with those moves.
Unfortunately there is no pay, but food will be provided and if you are looking to meet more filmmakers and a great group, this will be a great way to spend 4 days!
Please contact me via e-mail if you are interested in working with us. My e-mail address is gypsyfilms@yahoo.com. Below are the crew positions we are looking to fill:
--Sound mixer and boom operator - must have experience mixing, sound stage experience a plus. Equipment will be provided!
--Script Supervisor - must have experience as a script supervisor...there will be a lot of continuity and eyeline issues as this script mostly revolves around 7 characters having dinner together in a restaurant.
--Grips - Should have experience on a set and gripping.
-- Art Department PA's - Please have experience in art department.
--Makeup - Please have experience as a makeup artist for film. Will probably need two to three as it is a cast of 7 leads and a few extras.
--Wardrobe - Experience in continuity needed. The film takes place during a dinner at a restaurant. 7 lead roles and wardrobe that will get messy. Several extras.
--Craft Services - Will need to pick up craft services at Costco or similar place. Will need to be around to clean up and offer snacks to a hungry crew!
--PA's - This is great if you have never worked on a set and want some experience.
--Also: We are also looking for extras to play restaurant patrons and staff.
Thanks so much and I look forward to meeting you and working with you!
--Diana Romero
