Infinito to Screen ‘Beyond the New Age’ for TV

August 20, 2005:   BEYOND THE AGE a  nine-hour television series created, produced, written and directed by Margarita R. del Valle is now showing in the United States through Infinito, Time Warner Cable, Adelphia and Comcast in Los Angeles reaching over 1.9 million subscribers.  The shows are part of video-on-demand Hispanic service, Nuestra Tele On Demand.  The series is also showing    in Spanish and Portuguese in Latin America .

In BEYOND THE NEW AGE Writer/Director Del Valle takes us in a journey of discovery through conversations with scientists, physicians, writers and healers; some of the most influential minds of our century such as Dr. Michio Kaku, Dr. Jeane Houston, Dr. Brian Weiss, Dr. Deepak Chopra,  Dr. John Lilly,  among many more.  The programs explore the idea that humanity has entered into a time of renaissance, questions such as what is the meaning of consciousness and issues such as whether we are beginning to decipher some of the great mysteries of our common history.

“I’ve always been fascinated by that invisible world that we go to when we dream for example, or that extra sensorial perception that we insist in calling coincidence.  In the series I wanted to have a dialogue with people that had studied and lived many of the unexplained things often called mysteries”, says Ms. del Valle.

BEYOND THE NEW AGE is an original production of BNA Productions for Infinito, a cable company owned by Claxson, one of the largest networks in the Americas .  Claxon produces and distributes programming to Spanish and Portuguese speakers worldwide, including pay television, broadcast television, radio and the Internet.

The program will be shown in additional markets as Time Warner adds key Hispanic markets around the country such as Florida , Texas and New York .

"We are very pleased to provide original programming from Infinito and HTV música as an added value to Time Warner Cable Latin audiences around the US ," stated Mariano Varela, Marketing and Sales Senior VP of Claxson. "This agreement with Time Warner's VOD division reinforces our belief in the power of this type of programming."  The fastest-growing Hispanic population in the U.S: male and female between 25 and 49 years old is Infinito’s target audience. "Claxson has been catering to the Hispanic market for the last two years…together with our channel Infinito's growth, confirms we're on the right track as we continue to expand our presence in the market." said Ralph Haiek, COO Pay TV Division.

Quibo Tus y Tuas,

Hace un chorro that I don't write to you guys. I do, and all of you need to, thank Jose for being able to make this newsletter better and better SOLEY on his efforts. Me...? Just reading on your behalf... and the ocassional escapadita from my monk/hermit ways.

On that one... once more I am banged in the back of my head by the fact that there is no two ways about it. It is ONLY out there, in some of the most weirdest of the occasions, that the rabbit will jump. It is for you to be ready to catch it when it does. Extremely seldom the rabbit will come knocking at your door.

Case in point, a special LA screening of the Venezuelan film SECUESTRO EXPRESS. I get the invite to a "Salma Hayek-Miramax" (sure, like she is going to be there) presented screening of the film. The film has already created many chismes on how good it is and I wanted to see it.

Now, for those novatos, a "special screening",  is no guarantee that you will get to see the talent involved on the film, with the exception of those announced as Q&A in the invite. But they are a great way to build your network since a large majority of them are only attended by industry people. I told my wife not to even dress up since there was not going to be even some drinks afterward, for sure there would be some of the talent of the movie, but that we will pass unseen. I just wanted to see the film.

As many of you know by now, I don't qualify myself as a reliable critic of cinema, I like them all... but this one, is one of those that I know the feeling will be shared by most, if not all. Kept me thinking on it for many days after. All who know, (read above reviews) recommend it as a most see. Me too.

Well, not only I met some fifteen of my dearest friends and acquaintances, some more of those I can't remember their names, a couple I didn't like, but the darn pinchesito screening ended up being attended by Salma (no credit on film), Mia Maestro (lead), Eva Mendes, Jessica Alba, of course Elizabeth Avellan (Exec Prod) and Robert Rodriguez, and a plethora of other big wigs, Latinos and otherwise. Chisme is that Quentin Tarentino was there but I can't testify to that. I ended being introduced to the whole gang (literally) of the film. I congratulate each one of them for doing an outstanding job, especially worthy of those first timers actors.

So, now I hope I explained myself on what I mean with "the rabbit will jump, ONLY out there", OK? Now, regarding of being ready to catch it... consider this:

Me, all around veteran of this game, paid as an "expert" on the business, AN OWNER OF A DESIGN & DIGITAL PRINTING STUDIO, had not a single PINCH. PU.. MAD.. Business Card with ME!

That is to show you... how much attention you need to put on me.

At least now I have the excuse that I only have half of blood flow to my brain. What is yours?...

Hasta LuegAntros,
Alexito el Bonito
