WHO NEEDS MONEY ANYWAY?
LATIN HEAT MAGAZINE presents LALIFF’s Investor
Financing of Independent Film (and Other Entertainment Projects)
at the Eighth Annual Los Angeles Latino International Film
Festival on Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Hollywood Renaissance
Hotel on Highland Boulevard, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
A full room is anticipated, and attendees are
urged to arrive early. As foreign pre-sales and studio financing
become more difficult to obtain for independent filmmakers,
many are returning to investor financing for independent film
and other entertainment projects. This four-hour workshop
provides an overview of film finance options, including studio/industry
financing, lender financing and investor financing, followed
by a more detailed examination of strategies for investor
financing, when a business plan is or is not appropriate,
the choice of active or passive investor vehicles and documentation,
federal and states securities law compliance for LLC’s and
limited partnerships and discussion of various required elements
of the required disclosure documents and marketing considerations.
