Univision sues Nielsen over LPMs
Univision filed a lawsuit against Nielsen Media
Research alleging that the ratings provider's new Local People
Meter audience measurement system is "flawed and knowingly
deceptive." With the lawsuit, Univision is seeking to prevent
Nielsen from launching the LPMs in Los Angeles on July 8.

My Dear Colleagues,
Who here among us has and is creating highly original,
staggering works that take our collective breath away? Which
one of you would be up to the challenge of pushing your own
creative envelope for :24 of potential national attention?
Why is Francesca talking like this, too much green
tea? Probably. But also because this is a great opportunity
and I want to make sure to give the most people the greatest
chance to express themselves.
No really, why?
Well, its a long story... I'm currently contracting
for Butler, Shine & Stern to develop a unique campaign to
promote emerging artists on the cusp of visibility who just
need that little extra push of promotion so that they can
achieve deeper market penetration and national visibility
(how's that for 'adspeak'). What it breaks down to is this,
we're (Butler Shine & Stern) holding an open call for 24 sec
films by and about artists, writers, athletes, musicians,
fashion designers and of course riveting original works by
filmmakers. The finalists will receive a $10,000 award to
help them along their way. In addition to having their short-short
films air on TV and the web, they will also have a web profile
allowing them the opportunity to create a whole new audience
for themselves.
This project is a way for our client (Chuck Taylor's
-hi-tops) to give something significant back to the arts community
and to create a new venue for emerging talent to be seen.
I have the proposal as a .pdf file, let me know if you're
interested and I can talk with you in person about the project
and send the pdf your way so you can mull things over.
Please feel free to email met at work: fprada@bssp.com
(I check it more often) or phone me at 415.339.1508 with any
questions or just to follow up. I'll be freelancing here through
August, but the :24 films/videos are due much sooner than
that! July 7th to be exact...
I hope you're as excited about this project as
I am.
Peace, Francesca Prada, producer/business affairs
