New Film Works Screening of TWO DAYS

The Museum of Contemporary Art and IFP/Los Angeles extend an invitation to your NALIP Members to attend a complimentary film screening of Two Days, written and directed by Sean McGinley, on Thursday, May 20, at 7:30pm.

TWO DAYS

Paul Miller is a 30 year old, romantically challenged and perpetually out of work actor, who decides to make a documentary film about the last two days of his life before he kills himself.  He announces his intentions at the beginning of the story and we follow him as he says his final goodbyes.

Two Days stars Paul Rudd, Donal Logue, Mackenzie Astin, Adam Scott, Stacey Travis, Karl Wiedergott, and Lourdes Benedicto.

Q&A with the filmmakers and a hosted reception will follow the screening.

Admission is complimentary for members of NALIP plus one guest each. No reservations are required. Please present this e-mail invitation for entrance. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The screening will take place at the SilverScreen Theater at the Pacific Design Center located at 8687 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, CA., on the corner of Melrose Avenue and San Vicente Boulevard in West Hollywood. The theater is on the second floor of the Pacific Design Center’s green building.

Parking is available at a reduced rate of $5 in the Pacific Design Center indoor and outdoor lots. Enter from San Vicente Boulevard just north of Melrose Avenue. Once you have parked, follow the signs to the theater.

This screening is sponsored by MOCA, IFP/LA, and the Pacific Design Center. New Film Works is a monthly screening series highlighting the best films from filmmakers working outside the mainstream. The series presents contemporary narrative and documentary features that have not yet received American distribution or release. The series aims to expand the understanding and appreciation of independent film as a contemporary art form.

For additional information, please call Julianna Brannum at IFP/Los Angeles at 310/432-1211.

Dear Friends of LTC,

It has been brought to our attention that a petition is being circulated regarding our participation in the process of determining the future of the Los Angeles Theatre Center (LATC).  Although the petition is full of misleading and inaccurate statements regarding the
events that have taken place at the L.A. City Council and the L.A. City Council Arts Committee, we are not interested in being part of an orchestrated campaign to pit one non-profit arts organization against another.

The Latino Theater Company has a long history at the LATC and our goal is to bring back to the LATC the cultural life, artistic vision and artistic excellence that has long been missing -- in short, to create a world class theater in downtown Los Angeles that represents all of the diversity of this great City.  Our goal is to create bridges between the diverse communities in L.A., and our vision is one of inclusion, not exclusion.  We are very grateful to Councilwoman Jan Perry for her patience and support in this long and difficult process.  Yes, it has been difficult, but great dreams are not easily fulfilled.  If you support our work, our vision and our dream for a vibrant Los Angeles Theatre Center, please sign the petition below:
