thing to tunes after the screening.
What's a Film
Slam? It's like a poetry slam but with flicks: people
show up with their best five minutes of their film or video
cued up. We show the films randomly (NO first come, first
serve--we want you to hang out!), the filmmaker is introduced
and can say a couple of words and the night goes on like that.
from 7-7:45: we collect the vids (VHS, DVD
format) from
8-10p: we watch the vids
The Slam/Mixer is
generously hosted by Smokin’ Mirrors Studios, 4928 Hollywood
Blvd, and will offer live DJ entertainment from 10
p.m. to midnight immediately following the screenings. The
event is free and open to the public. For more info,
email Sonia Gonzalez: LaSone189@aol.com.
The next
film slam will be May 20th. Mark your calendars
now!
