Film Festival Marks 2nd European Screening

Tucson, AZ/Los Angeles, CA: Hope Street Productions is proud to announce its highly acclaimed feature film, Runnin’ At Midnite, is an official selection of the 2004 Festival Itinerante de Cine Latinos in The USA. The film is scheduled to screen on April 13th, 2004, in Vigo, Galicia, Spain.

Runnin’ at Midnite, written and directed by Pablo Toledo and produced by Hope Street Productions, tells the story of young men struggling to escape the tough Tucson streets through a midnight basketball league. The film enjoyed a highly successful domestic film festival tour with screenings at The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, HBO’s Urbanworld Film Festival, and The Palm Spring Hispanic Film Festival, among others. It is currently in nationwide DVD and Home Video release and represented by Integration Entertainment (www.int-ent.net).

Please visit: http://www.portalatino.com/latinosinusa for more information about the film festival.

Director Pablo Toledo on the festival: “It is very exciting to have an opportunity to share this film with other Latinos who may or may not have similar experiences. The potential to have meaningful dialogue with Spanish audiences is something I am really looking forward to.”

NALIP LA Hollywood Video Slam APRIL 22ND

Share your work - Meet other Latino media makers - Shake your groove thing to tunes after the screening.

What's a Film Slam?
It's like a poetry slam but with flicks:  people show up with their best five minutes of their film or video cued up. We show the films randomly (NO first come, first serve--we want you to hang out!), the filmmaker is introduced and can say a couple of words and the night goes on like that.
from 7-7:45:  we collect the vids (VHS, DVD format)
from 8-10p:   we watch the vids

The Slam/Mixer is generously hosted by Smokin’ Mirrors Studios, 4928 Hollywood Blvd, and will offer live DJ entertainment from 10 p.m. to midnight immediately following the screenings. The event is free and open to the public.  For more info, email Sonia Gonzalez:  LaSone189@aol.com.

The next film slam will be May 20th. Mark your calendars now!
