Rodriguez's move
imperils pic Robert Rodriguez's
resignation from the DGA has jeopardized Paramount's
development of its tentpole pic "A Princess of Mars." As a DGA
signatory, Par is required to employ only guild directors.

directed by Allan Mindel at the SilverScreen Theater at
the Pacific Design Center.
Allan Mindel co-founded
Click Models in New York City in 1980, representing most of
the great faces of the 1980’s. In 1987, he founded Flick
Talent Agency and started representing actors and directors
such as Uma Thurman, Viggo Mortensen, David Duchovny, Lorraine
Bracco, Isabella Rossellini, Kelly Lynch, among others. In
1991 he segued into producing films at New Line Cinema.
There he produced My Own Private Idaho, Bodies, Rest
and Motion, Pie in the Sky, Bed of Roses, and Julian
Po. He also produced There’s No Fish Food in
Heaven for Storm Entertainment. In 1995, Mr. Mindel
co-founded Mindel-Donegan Entertainment (now Framework,
Entertainment), managing actors including John C. Reilly,
Marcia Gay Harden, Lucy Liu, and Debi Mazar. Milwaukee,
Minnesota is Allan Mindel’s directorial debut.
The
screening is on Thursday, April 15, at 7:30pm. Admission is
free for each member plus one guest. Seating is on a
first-come, first-served basis. RSVP to sterry@ifp.org. Please notify

drama series NYPD Blue, has a recurring role on the PBS
broadcast of Gregory Nava's drama series American Family, and
recently finished filming a lead role in the Cinematropical
Pictures Isla Bella, directed by Martia Karrel. Esai
Morales is also on the Women in Film Board of

Urban Latino
TV kicks off brand new episodes this week
(the week of 4/5/04) which are broadcasts in over 55 markets
representing over 50 million homes across the United States
(84% of Hispanic Homes) on mainstream, English language
affiliates such as KABC in Los Angeles, WCBS in New York, WBBM
CBS 2 in Chicago, etc., etc.
Currently in its 2nd season, the award
winning show is the 1st successful syndicated program to
effectively target and reach young, 2nd and 3rd generation
Latinos (60% of all U.S. Latinos) or anyone who has a love or
appreciation of Latin and contemporary U.S. culture.
Our sponsors include some of the
biggest names in the business including Volkswagen,
Anheuser Busch, U.S. Army, General Motors,
Universal Pictures and more. Most of our ad dollars come
directly from Spanish Language Television, another 1st in the
industry.
In addition to a weekly 1/2 hour
program, the show's producers, AIM Tell-A-Vision and Maximas
Productions, also produce a series of quarterly 1 hour
music specials titled "Sonidos" with "Sonidos Volume 4 Latin
Legends" set to premiere across the U.S. in
May. The Urban Latino TV Lifestyle DVD Volume 1 is
currently available in stores such as Tower Video, and
Fryes with 2 more titles "Urban Latino TV Movement" and the
"Urban Latino TV Culture" scheduled for release over the
course of 2004.
In the fall, "American Latino", a
broader version of Urban Latino TV integrating elements of
Americana Latin culture from the heartland and southwest
will debut.

Associate
Producer (AP) needed:
New
PBS documentary series, Beyond the Dream, seeks an AP
based in Los Angeles (8-11 months).
Associate
Producer position requires strong research and writing skills;
experience in setting up shoots; production management;
licensing of stills and footage. Post production
experience and knowledge of contemporary California issues
preferable. Long form broadcast documentary necessary,
preferably for PBS productions. The ability to speak
Spanish is an asset.
Must be available to begin work by May, 2004.
Beyond the Dream: California and
the Rediscovery of America is a four part documentary
series exploring the last thirty years of the California
experience, examining issues of racial and ethnic diversity,
identity, culture, politics and policy. Series will be
broadcast on PBS in 2005.
