NALIP joins American Family to invite you to a very special screening of the first two episodes with the cast & crew - at the following special free screening:

"AMERICAN FAMILY - JOURNEY OF DREAMS"
Special cast and crew screening

NALIP Members are invited to attend a screening of the first two chapters of the miniseries, "AMERICAN FAMILY - JOURNEY OF DREAMS." AMERICAN FAMILY, PBS' widely acclaimed drama, returns to broadcast television Sundays at 7 p.m. beginning April 4, 2004, with the Gonzalez clan celebrating the wedding of one son while confronting their worst fears as another goes off to war.  Starring Academy Award(r) nominee Edward James Olmos, Constance Marie, Yancey Arias, Jesse Borrego, Patricia Velasquez, Kate del Castillo and Raquel Welch, with special guest stars Esai Morales, Lynn Whitfield and Rachel Ticotin, and special appearances by Sonia Braga, the second season juxtaposes the Gonzalez family's story against the broad sweep of contemporary history.  AMERICAN FAMILY - JOURNEY OF DREAMS interweaves the Gonzalez' courageous escape from the Mexican Revolution to seek a better life in America with the sacrifices the family made in the 1990s to send their first-born son to medical school and the consequences of those sacrifices as seen through the prism of war in Iraq to reveal how their past informs their future.

AMERICAN FAMILY - JOURNEY OF DREAMS was created by Gregory Nava and is produced by his company, El Norte Productions, and KCET/Hollywood, in association with The Greenblatt Janollari Studio and Fox Television Studios.  Underwriters: Johnson & Johnson, The American Legacy Foundation, Public Television Viewers, PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Fox Seeks Diverse TV Writers - Deadline 4/15/04

The FOX Entertainment Group funds a Writers Initiative to provide training and guidance for those writers who have little experience in television but hope to break into the industry. We provide enrollment in the six-week Writer's Bootcamp program in Los Angeles, and a one-on-one relationship with Fox Diversity executives who try to assist the writer in gaining employment on a television series.

Up to 15 writers are selected to attend a writer's workshop at Fox expense and to begin an ongoing relationship with our company. In our second year of Writers Initiative, five of the fifteen finalists selected for the program were hired as staff writers or writer's assistants on network TV series.

Continuing to grow upon this success, FOX's Diversity Development Department will accept submissions for next year's Writers Initiative through
April 15, 2004. For submission guidelines and more information, visit http://www.fox.com/diversity/submit.htm (or visit www.fox.com, click on "Info", then "Diversity Development" then "Writer Submission").
