This wonderful story is about a latin family, their son, his new yankee bride, their honeymoon, a van and traffic....

Consider "que pasa usa" meets CHICAGO the musical, with some addams family values tossed in.....

Batovision Films is seeking bilingual actors for several characters:

Concha : the wise but oversexed aunt
Abuo : the elderly grandfather
Mamita:  repressed and repesssive  mother, very pretty,  quietly bossy in her own way
Viejo: the father of the troupe, thinks he's macho and the boss but he's very hen pecked.
Tico : the newly married son, bright and optimisitic, naive.....  thinks he's Ricky Martin...... thinks the world is tolerant and socially open to his ideas......
Lalisa:  older jilted sister...... twice married by 19 and has five children already by 21....... loud, screaming, opinionated......
Loco: the nervous uncle, paranoid, prone to flashbacks from life on a cuban farm....
Tonya: Tico's new very black, very yankee bride. she has no idea what she got into. Very pretty, very sexy, she's 150% woman and likes to show off her beauty. Very PROUD but occasionally she shows a demanding, dominating side to TICO that no one else sees....

This film will be produced in HIALEAH SPANGLISH, has comedic  highlights,
several musical numbers, but a heavy psychodramatic tone.

SEEKING 11-15 YEAR OLD ASIAN, LATINO, AND EAST INDIAN BOYS TO PLAY ROLES AS 13 YEAR OLD CHARACTERS

 

 

Spelling Bee Productions and LIONS GATE ENTERTAINMENT, producers of THE PRINCE AND ME, OPEN WATER, MONSTER'S BALL, are seeking 11-15 year old boys to play 13 years old for 2 leading roles in the feature film, AKEELAH AND THE BEE.

 

This film shoots in Los Angeles starting approximately January 23^rd.

 

Here is what we're looking for:

 

DYLAN:  11-15 year old boy, to play a 13 year old Asian or East Indian, a long-time spelling bee participant, second place winner in the national finals two years running.  Considered cold by others in the competition, Dylan, we soon learn is being pressured by his overachieving father.

 

JAVIER:  11-15 year old boy, to play a 13 year old Latino, from an upscale Woodland Hills family, Javier is a tremendously engaging and charismatic kid with a great sense of humor.

We are looking for any funny skits, pet tricks. kid tricks and funny home video bloopers to air on the show. The Boynton Beach Bereavement Club is a charming romantic comedy starring Brenda Vaccaro, Len Cariou, Dyan Cannon, Joe Bologna, Sally Kellerman and Michael Nouri embodying the grain of independent cinema in the hands of competent craftsmen and being an extra would be a great opportunity to contribute to great filmmaking while getting a front row seat to all the action.
